What is a farm without a Horse?
Horseless of course. (Sorry I
couldn't resist.)
This
is Duke and Prince, our team of Belgians. These are Ed's horses. He
prefers to drive a team then set in a saddle. Duke and Prince pull one of
the hay wagons and/or
bobsled during the fall and Christmas Seasons.
Ginger
is our quarter horse mare. When we got her she was jet black with a star
on her forehead. Over the last several years she has turned a beautiful grey.
She is 7 years old.
This
is Major. He is a Tennessee Walker and is 25 years old. In 2009, I
rode Major across the state from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. It was
incredible. Shortly after this ride, Major lost his right eye. We
have now nicknamed him Pirate. Major is retired from trail riding
and is now giving children of all ages rides in our Pony Ride Ring.
This
is Rowdy. His registered name is Chickasaw Playboy. He is the horse
that Ed rides. He is fast and loves to run. He is also a Tennessee
Walker. (back) |
